“Remember there's no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple effect with no logical end.”

-Scott Adams

Sooo, how am I kind on the internet?

  • Listen and Empathize

Many times, arguments and insults in the comment section come from misunderstand. Take the time to stop and discover what the other person is actually saying.

  • Engage

Ignoring or just deleting comments is not always the answer. I’ve noticed that many of the people posting negative comments are reasonable and willing to change their mind, IF you approach the conversation with kindness, truth, and realness.

  • Be Truthful

You might be right, but they also might be right. Approach each person/scenario with curiosity and honesty. If you make a mistake, own up to it!

If you realize you’re right, don’t rub it in and hold it over the person—share the information with the intent of helping.

  • Be nice

I know, I know… this seems basic, but it’s true! Even if someone is heated or calling you names, a little bit of kindness goes a long way to diffusing the situation. I’ve had many interactions where I realized the person was mad about something else and they took their frustrations out on the comment section.
